Magyarországon a házasságkötések száma 2010-ben érte el a mélypontját, ekkor csaknem 36 ezer pár járult anyakönyvvezető elé. Ezt követően a házasságkötési kedv újra lendületet vett. 1986 óta nem kötöttek annyian házasságot, mint 2021-ben, ekkor 72 ezer házasságkötés történt, ami duplája a 2010-es értéknek. A házasságkötések csaknem háromnegyedét a nőtlenek, hajadonok, vagyis az első alkalommal házasságra lépők alkotják. A 2010 óta megfigyelhető emelkedő tendenciát egyértelműen az első házasságkötések emelkedő száma adja. Mind a nők, mind a férfiak esetében elmondható, hogy több mint 60%-uknak nem volt gyermeke a házasságkötéskor. A gyermekes házasodók száma mind a férfiak, mind a nők esetében 2,5-szeresére nőtt 2010 és 2021 között. Jelentős emelkedés történt 2015-2016-ban, a CSOK bevezetése idején, és 2019-ben, a Családvédelmi Akcióterv bevezetésekor. In Hungary, the number of marriages reached its lowest point in 2010, when nearly 36,000 couples registered their union. After this, a renewed interest in marriage emerged. By 2021, the number of marriages reached 72,000, the highest since 1986, doubling the figure from 2010. Nearly three-quarters of these marriages were first-time marriages for both partners. The upward trend since 2010 has been driven primarily by the increase in first marriages. Over 60% of both men and women had no children at the time of marriage. The number of parents marrying also rose significantly, increasing by 2.5 times from 2010 to 2021. There were major spikes in 2015-2016 with the introduction of CSOK and in 2019 with the Family Protection Action Plan.
