Hungarian society is fundamentally family-oriented in its thinking, and regards having children and family relationships as a value. The increasingly negative demographic trend begun in the 1980s included a decline in the number of marriages, an increase in divorces and a declining willingness to have children. Then in 2010 a marked improvement began.
